MIT Reality Hack | Hackathon

I’m extremely excited to have been chosen as a mentor and judge at the upcoming MIT Reality Hack, March 23-27, 2022.

Five straight days of watching students and creators come together to create XR projects – the last one (in 2020) saw 75 teams create projects that included climate change visualizations in VR, AR storyboarding tools, spatialized hashtags, VR accessibility toolkits, VR games and much more. Am curious to see what they come up with this year!

Panel appearance at Creative Tech Week 2017

For those who are curious…here’s the full panel discussion exploring the future of VR and entertainment that I was a part of at Creative Tech Week 2017 back in June. Thank you to Isabel Walcott Draves and Cortney Harding for asking me to participate; it was great to be part of an event this forward thinking, and meet co-panelists Victoria Pike, Joel Douek, David Lobser and Jenya Lugina. Honored to be in such impressive company!

Presenting 3d printing

Hah! An action shot of me presenting at the Empiricist League about 2 years ago, on the future impact of 3D printing….dug up by a friend of mine.

Proud I am.

I was presenting after George Musser (former senior editor for Scientific American and the author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to String Theory) and Chuck Blake (former research scientist at the Laboratory for Computer Science at MIT) – both very hard acts to follow. Yoda was my attempt at humor, following people of that caliber! Eeks!

Think I carried it off 😉

And yes, I really do think 3D printing will change EVERYTHING.

If you’re interested, here’s the presentation I gave.

Oh and if you’re ever in Brooklyn when there’s an Empiricist League meetup, definitely go! The organizers are geniuses at attracting amazing, world class speakers. I was honored to be included.
